British boxing champion Ryan Walsh was the special guest at the Fit4it presentation evening on Thursday where participants reunited to celebrate the completion of the Summer Camp or the 10-week health programme.
Held at Norwich City Football Club, the event saw a large turnout and gave participants the chance to share their achievements with friends and family.
Throughout their Fit4it journey, the youngsters, aged between seven and sixteen took part in interactive health workshops and physical activity sessions to learn about the importance of healthy eating.
Tessa Beecroft, CSF Health Development Officer, said to the programme graduates:
“It has been very rewarding to hear your success stories and the positive changes you’ve made thanks to Fit4it, whether this is a change in your diet or trying a new sport.
“You should all be extremely proud of yourselves, health and nutrition are important priorities for us at CSF and we hope you continue working towards your goals.”
Ryan Walsh explained the importance of reaching a healthy weight to the audience:
“Maintaining a balanced diet is tough and requires a lot of discipline but it is essential for your overall health. Eating right helps you feel good and gives you more energy to enjoy life.”
He stayed after the presentation ceremony for a question & answer session and to have photographs with participants and their families.
Fit4it is designed in conjunction with Norfolk County Council’s Public Health and runs in association with Children & Young People’s Health Services Norfolk and Inspire International.
The programme is aimed at providing children and young people with the opportunity to learn about health and nutrition whilst gaining confidence through making new friends and taking part in different sports and team building activities.
