More than just a tournament

The Summer Cup is the Community Sports Foundation’s showpiece tournament for youth teams.

Across the two day festival of football, we usually welcome over 60 FA-affiliated youth clubs and over 230 teams from across East Anglia, as well as thousands of spectators.

Since it was founded in 2000, it has also served as an invaluable scouting tool for our Football Development Programme.

The Summer Cup will return this summer!

Taking place at The Nest on Saturday 24th July and Sunday 25th July, up to sixty teams will be able to participate, across U7-U9 (mixed) and U10-U14 (girls) age groups.

Entries will open at 9am, Monday 17th May here.

Saturday 24th July

U10 – 5-a-side
U12 – 6-a-side
U14 – 6-a-side

Note: two-year bandings permitted (e.g. U9s and U10s can play in the U10s)

Sunday 25th July

U7 – 5-a-side – Non-competitive
U8 – 5-a-side – Non-competitive
U9 – 7-a-side

All age groups for 2021/22 season.

This year’s Cup will see a reduced number of teams, to enable the tournament to be run in accordance within social distancing guidelines. A total of sixty teams will take part across the two days, with a cap of 10 teams per age banding.

U7 and U8 matches will be non-competitive, but – as per previous years – with a seeding format for the second round of group stages. For the first time, the U9s tournament will be 7-a-side, as we look to support teams with their transition to the format.

Entry for the Summer Cup will open on 9am, Monday 17th May here.

The 20th annual Summer Cup took place at The Nest over two weekends this summer. Read the roundup here.
