James's Story

This week is National Apprenticeship Week.

National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity for the education and skills sector to celebrate the achievements of apprentices around the country and the positive impact they make on communities, businesses, and the wider economy. We’re shining a spotlight on current apprentice, James, to share the story of his journey into a Community Sports Foundation apprenticeship.

James is one of our longest-attending participants at the Foundation, joining our hearing impairment sessions at a young age. After attending our various disability football programmes for many years, James was successful in attaining a place on our Football and Education programme at Carrow Road.

It was here that James started to think further about his future work and subsequently applied for our Apprenticeship scheme where he now works. In his new Apprenticeship role, James has gone full circle, inspiring the next generation of young people and particularly those with disabilities through his coaching and work. whilst developing his skills to work towards a full-time employment in the future.
