How long is the course?
It’s just under a mile (if you’d like us to be precise, 1.52 kilometres!)
I’m entered in to the main 10k race. Can I also run with my child in the junior run?
No – due to the tight turnaround times of the events, adults are unable to take part in both.
Can my child wear headphones?
The use of any devices with headphones, earbuds or bone conduction devices are not prohibited while completing the run.
Can my child wear fancy dress?
Fancy dress is not permitted whilst completing the Junior Run, we’d encourage runners to wear your commemorative Run Norwich Junior t-shirt where possible – let’s see a sea of green!
Is this event a race? Will there be results?
No, this event is a just for fun and therefore will not be timed. Everyone will receive a finisher’s medal, and there will be no prizes for the first finisher.
Will the roads be closed? Is the route sign posted?
Yes – the run takes place on part of the Run Norwich 10km course, so road closures will remain the same. The route will be sign posted.
Is there a baggage drop-off for Junior Run entrants?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a baggage drop-off for entrants.
Will my child still be able to take part if they haven’t reached their fundraising target?
Our fundraising team are on hand to offer you support and guidance. If you are struggling to hit the target, please contact them to discuss.
My child is disabled/in a wheelchair – can they still take part?
Please contact the event team at [email protected] to discuss this option further.
Is there a cut off time for completing the run? What if they can’t finish it in time?
Yes, due to the main 10K race that follows the Junior Run, anyone not in a position of completing the course within the 15-minute time, may be withdrawn from the course.
Participants who cannot complete the course in the given time frame will be collected from the course by our team of volunteers and escorted to the Race Village.
My child is age 10 and over but wants me to accompany them. Can I run with them?
We have a limited total capacity, which includes both children and accompanying adult runners. Therefore, we encourage runners aged 10 and over to run unaccompanied whenever possible. This helps more children to participate and enjoy the Run Norwich Junior experience.
However, in special circumstances, such as if your child has additional needs, health conditions, or impairments, we do permit adults to run with their children aged 10 and over. Please contact us directly at [email protected] to make arrangements.
I have entered as an accompanying adult. How many children can I be responsible for?
Accompanying parents can be responsible for a maximum of two children running the course.
Can my child’s older sibling be their support runner?
Yes – as long as they are 18 or over.
I am running as an accompanying adult. What entry benefits will I receive?
You’ll receive everything your child does – a medal, souvenir bag, t-shirt and the day passes to The Nest and Banham Zoo.
