On Sunday 7th June, five fearless fundraisers took their support for the Community Sports Foundation to new heights, literally, by completing a once-in-a-lifetime skydive that raised an incredible £2,000.
Taking off from Beccles Airfield, the brave group boarded a plane and climbed to around 13,000 feet (that’s roughly two miles above the ground!) before preparing for the challenge ahead. After a deep breath (or two), each participant leapt into the Norfolk skies, freefalling at speeds of up to 120mph for an exhilarating 40 seconds before their parachutes opened and they safely floated back to terra firma. And of course, our fearless fundraisers didn’t experience this feat alone. Every jumper was securely strapped to a qualified instructor from UK Parachuting throughout.
While the physical challenge was undeniable, for many the mental hurdle was the most significant. For some of our fundraisers, their very real fear of heights means even the thought of being in a tall building feels overwhelming, making this achievement all the more remarkable.
Each fundraiser pushed themselves far beyond their comfort zone in support of the Foundation’s work, showing real courage and determination. Click here to see the full, brilliant emotional rollercoaster of the day from the team at Roveel who took on the challenge!
The reward? Beaming smiles, adrenaline highs and a fantastic amount raised in support of the Foundation’s vital work across Norfolk.
From the buzz on landing to the incredible fundraising effort, it’s safe to say the skydive challenge was a huge success, and one that has firmly earned its place on our 2027 events calendar.
