Foundation Football Graduate Signs First Professional Contract

Ronnie Blois, a graduate of the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation’s Football & Education Pathway, has signed his first professional contract with Morecambe FC.

Ronnie joined the Foundation pathway at U8 level, spending eight seasons developing within the Advanced Development Centre in a highquality learning environment. He progressed into the Foundation’s post16 Football & Education programme between 2023 and 2025, combining his studies with weekly training, strength and conditioning, and a competitive fixture programme delivered at Carrow Road and The Nest. He completed his course with an outstanding Distinction grade.

His performances earned him a trial with Championship side Blackburn Rovers in May. Now, Ronnie has taken the next step by signing professionally with Morecambe FC – one of the favourites for the National League North title and a former League One club.

Ronnie becomes the latest Foundation graduate to reach the professional game, following in the footsteps of Lioness star Lauren Hemp, Scotland international Angus Gunn, Blackburn Rovers captain Todd Cantwell, Charlton Athletic midfielder Sonny Carey and more.

Ronnie’s journey also carries a special family connection. He follows in the footsteps of his dad, Lewis Blois, who turned professional at Norwich City earlier in his career.

“I’m delighted to sign a professional contract,” said Ronnie.

“I would like to thank the Foundation greatly for the support they’ve given me over the years – I’ve loved every second in the Football & Education pathway.

“The coaching was excellent and the chance to play competitive football week in, week out was massive for my development. The staff also had a genuine interest in us as people. They wanted us to grow in football, and in life outside of it.

“The Foundation has made me a far greater player, and I’m proud to have come through the pathway.”

The Foundation’s Head of Football, Adam Drury, added: “We’re delighted for Ronnie – it’s a fantastic achievement and one he has worked incredibly hard for.

“Ronnie is another great example of the strength of our Football & Education pathway. He spent a decade developing within our programmes, and I’m sure everyone at the Foundation will take pride in seeing him sign a professional contract. Ultimately, though, Ronnie is the one who deserves all the credit.

“Ronnie’s academic growth was also fantastic to see. His grades were outstanding during his time on our post‑16 programme, which is testament to his development both on and off the pitch.

“Ronnie’s football journey, progressing from our pathway into the National League system, has also played a significant role in his personal growth and development. Along the way, he has benefited from excellent support from a number of key people and clubs, and we will all be watching his next steps with great interest.”
