Adam Drury makes surprise festive visit to Duncan's Club

Norwich City legend and club ambassador Adam Drury paid a special visit to Duncan’s Club on Thursday, the Community Sports Foundation’s weekly dementia support programme at The Nest.

Adam, who captained the Canaries during his impressive career, joined participants for a quiz, singalong, and plenty of festive fun. He spent time meeting attendees, sharing stories, and bringing smiles to the group.

There was a particular special moment when Adam sat down with Trevor Howard and Peter Silvester, two regular participants of Duncan’s Club and former Norwich City players. The trio made over 600 appearances between them at Carrow Road, with Trevor and Peter playing for the Club almost 60 years ago.

“It was a brilliant afternoon and I really enjoyed being part of the session,” said Adam.

“Everyone in the room had smile on their face and it was fantastic to see. Duncan’s Club is greatly important to the community and it was nice to witness first-hand the impact it has on participants and families.

“The staff and volunteers created a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere and it was a pleasure to be involved with.”

Duncan’s Club provides a welcoming space for people living with dementia and their carers, offering activities, companionship, and support. It takes place every Thursday at The Nest and is free to attend – click here for more information.
