Last week, Norwich City FC players Steven Whittaker and Graham Dorrans treated pupils at two CSF partner schools to surprise visits.
City midfielder Graham Dorrans joined Headteacher Victoria McConnell at a school assembly at Wensum Junior School in Norwich, where a Q&A session gave the pupils the opportunity to ask about his career as a professional footballer.
In Gorleston, students at St Mary’s Primary School were excited to see defender Steven Whittaker, as he joined class teacher and P.E co-ordinator Sam Brackenbury on a tour of the school.
The Canary defender popped into classrooms to meet the young students, as well as joining in with a P.E. session delivered by Foundation coaches.
“The students were delighted to meet the players,” said Joe Harvey, CSF Schools Development Officer. “The players advice to them was to never give up on your dreams and you could see that their words really inspired the youngsters.”
Each month, CSF’s schools programme delivers around 600 P.E. sessions to over 11,000 children across Norfolk & Suffolk.
