Boys' EPDC take on Boston United CoE teams at Easton College

October half-term started bright and early for the boys’ Elite Player Development Centre (EPDC) on Saturday, with a number of fixtures for the U13, U14, U15 & U16 age groups.

The visitors to Easton College were Boston United FC’s Centre of Excellence, for what is becoming a regular fixture on the CSF boys’ football programme calendar.

The matches against the Pilgrims gave the opportunity for several players in the EPDC to test themselves in older age bandings.

All the coaches were pleased with the performances from the teams. Dan Goffin, CSF’s Football Development Officer (14-18), commented: “We’ve been playing against the guys from Boston United for the past three seasons and each year they present us with exactly the environment we want our players to be playing in – competitive, high-tempo and physically demanding games.

“Some personal highlights for me included seeing our boys playing the ‘Norwich City way’ and implementing things that we’ve recently been working on in training.

“All in all, it was a great morning for all involved – well done to all and thank you to the players and coaches from Boston United for coming down, as well as all our parents who gave our teams some fantastic support.”

The boys EPDC and PDC groups are taking part in a number of special training sessions over the week, with the younger PDC age groups in action against the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk Norwich City Regional Development Centres on Thursday.

Upcoming fixtures for the EPDC include York City and the Norwich City FC Academy.
