Sam Byram Surprises Realising Potential Session
Last week Norwich City full-back Sam Byram paid a surprise visit to our Realising Potential participants at Carrow Park.
The session on the day involved a problem-solving task whereby participants had to select a Norwich City starting XI from a squad that had five key players absent due to injury or international duty.
The task aimed to help participants understand how to overcome challenges and obstacles, and how they can use logical thinking to overcome these in real-life circumstances.
Sam observed and lent his expertise on whom the participants should select in their starting XI and bench. Once the technical work had been done off the pitch, it was time for participants to show Sam their skills on it!
After making the rounds at a number of skill drills such as ‘crossbar challenge’, ‘top bins’, ‘pick a corner’ and ‘half-volley’, it was time for a game!
Participants went into a five-a-side game as Sam watched on and applauded from the sideline during an end-to-end game of football.
At the end of the session, Sam then took the time to take photos and chat with the participants before they headed home to share the stories of their day!
