Ashley Barnes wins PFA Community Champion award

Norwich City Community Sports Foundation are delighted to announce Ashley Barnes as their 2023/24 PFA Community Champion for his engagement and impact in the community this season.

Ashley signed for Norwich City in the summer of 2023, contributing to 12 goals in all competitions for the Canaries so far this season. Despite being sidelined by injury for a period of time during the season, Ashley has been a fantastic servant to the club both on and off the field, using much of his spare time to engage and inspire our community.

Some of Ashley’s key engagements this season have included a one-to-one training session with Onside participant Jack, helping volunteer Alex with the vegetable patch at The Nest and a surprise visit to our Powerchair Football Team with City teammate Angus Gunn.

Community Sports Foundation CEO, Ian Thornton OBE said:

“Ashley has been excellent, attending many Foundation initiatives. He has a fantastic way with the people has left a very positive impression on all of our participants and staff that he has met.

“We are very grateful for his support, and the wider support of the squad who contribute to our programmes through our City Giving scheme.”
