This Wednesday, 16th April, Canaries legend Grant Holt will lead a team of walkers on a 150-mile journey around the Norfolk countryside in just 60 hours, all in support of the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation and Big C Cancer Charity.
The ambitious challenge, powered by Arc Group, begins in King’s Lynn and will see the group walk day and night through Norfolk, finishing in unforgettable fashion with a walk onto the pitch at Carrow Road ahead of Norwich City’s home match against Portsmouth F.C. on Friday 18th April.
The challenge was conceived by Richard Pearce (Barclays Wealth), Grant Holt, and Adam Miller (Arc Group), and aims to raise vital funds to support the life-changing work of both charities.
In addition to the invaluable support from Arc Group, various stages of the walk have been generously supported by a lineup of local businesses, helping to push the team forward every mile:
The walk is not only a physical test but an emotional one too. For many participants, the causes are deeply personal. Adam Miller shared his connection to Big C:
“They helped my family so much when Dad was ill. They even made it possible for my sister to get married in the hospital so Dad could walk her down the aisle. They are truly amazing.”
The Community Sports Foundation was also praised by another walker, Sean Garrihy:
“It’s the heartbeat of the community. The work they do—whether it’s supporting mental health or giving people with disabilities the chance to thrive—is nothing short of a lifeline.”
This in-person challenge follows on from a Virtual 150-mile campaign earlier this year, where supporters logged miles by walking, running, and cycling to help raise awareness and funds.
In a joint message, Emma Fletcher-Dungay (Community Sports Foundation) and Tom Holmes (Big C) said:
“This is an inspiring initiative that unites our community. Together, we can make a real difference—transforming lives through sport and providing essential support to those affected by cancer.”
