Physical wellbeing through a blend of education and physical activity!

Active Canaries, in partnership with Norse,  is a programme passionate about educating young people about the importance of leading healthy lifestyles and the benefit this can have to their wider physical and mental health.

The Active Canaries programme is delivered through three forms of engagement:

School based Interventions:

This year we will be delivering six weeks of funded Active Canaries intervention programmes to schools in Norfolk, targeting healthy wellbeing in young people. These sessions will focus on the importance of physical activity, nutrition, hydration, sleep and mental health.

Menu Takeover Days:

Active Canaries Health Month sees the Club’s Executive Head Chef and Lead Performance Nutritionist work with the team at Norse Catering to serve school dinners inspired by some of your favourite Norwich City players. This year’s menu will include items such as BBQ Chickpeas, Katsu Curry and a special Apple and Cinnamon muffin!

The recipes and ingredients for the themed meals can also be found here should you want to try them at home:

Virtual Assembly:

This year also presents an exciting opportunity for schools and classes to take part in our virtual assembly on Thursday 19th March. Hear unique insights from Norwich City players, from both the men and women’s teams, on how they keep healthy and how their positive choices have a direct impact on their performance.

Schools wanting to join this year’s free virtual assembly can do so by clicking below.

"The Active Canaries programme continues to go from strength to strength with the support and guidance from Norse. The ability to combine high performance knowledge from the nutrition team at Norwich City with those working on a mass scale in schools everyday allows us to show that eating healthy is an option for everyone."
