The Community Sports Foundation’s Extra Time group had the pleasure of meeting Norwich City FC director Tom Smith, earlier this month.
Following an hour of sport at Carrow Park, the group were joined in the studio by Tom afterwards for tea and an informal chat with Dan Wynne, the Foundation’s Head of Marketing & Communications.
A lifelong Canary fan, Tom shared his experiences of supporting the club, including memories of his first Norwich match at the Old Den in 1989 having been taken to the game by his aunt and uncle, joint majority shareholders Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones.
As a trustee at the Foundation since 2016, Smith also shared his pride in the charity’s work, and the development of its new community facility in Horsford, The Nest.
He answered questions from the group about his role with both the club and the Foundation.
The Foundation’s weekly Extra Time programme is aimed at over-55s, and includes both a sport and social session. It takes place at 10am every Wednesday.
Starting in January 2022, an additional Extra Time session will run at The Nest on Monday mornings, while a free computing skills course – Extra Time Digital – takes place every Friday morning in the IT suite.
New members are always welcome! You can find out more on our Extra Time page here or by contacting us.
