Planet League 2022 comes to an end!

Planet League 2022 has reached its conclusion after five weeks of grassroots football clubs and schools engaging fans to score goals for positive climate action.

Each week focused on a particular theme, such as energy, food or travel, and the club whose fans take the most action would win the Planet League Cup!

After claiming maximum points during the first three weeks, Northampton Town claimed this year’s title, despite a late Manchester United push in weeks four and five.

But of course, the news we’re all anticipating is regarding your team – Norwich City!

Following five weeks of consistent goalscoring and climate action, your Canaries finished 9th out of 67 competing clubs around the Premier League, EFL and National League, pipping Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea for the position (not often we can say that!)

You, Norwich City fans, scored an incredible 1,978 goals across 693 different activities. This impact equates to a monstrous 867kg of co2 offset and the equivalent of 49 trees planted!

Well done to all the schools and individuals who took part in this year’s event, and here’s to pushing for top-five next year!
