Norwich City Women Surprise Girls Train Like a Pro Participants

Over three packed days, 20 participants took part in the Foundation’s Girls Train Like a Pro Residential at The Nest, enjoying elite on‑pitch training, tactical workshops, and a behind‑the‑scenes tour of Carrow Road – all designed to mirror a professional player development environment. 

One of the standout moments came when the group arrived at the Engage space to find three Norwich City Women players waiting to surprise them: Poppy Irvine, Eloise King, and Grace Riglar. They were joined by teammate Freya Symonds, who was already leading the session in her role as Football Development Officer at the Foundation. 

The players took part in an exciting Q&A, sharing stories from their football journeys and offering advice on confidence, resilience, and progression in the women’s game. Afterwards, they headed out onto the pitches to join in activities – including a competitive round of footgolf – giving participants the chance to play alongside role models from the first team. 

The visit wrapped up with autographs and photos, marking a memorable moment for everyone involved and a special highlight of the residential at The Nest.
