Norfolk Business Leaders Dinner raises £23,000

On Thursday 10th of November, 280 people from the Norfolk Business Leaders network attended a fundraising awards dinner at Carrow Road stadium.

Attendees enjoyed a three-course meal, a fundraising balloon raffle and the infamous Foundation ‘heads and tails lottery’.

As the dinner neared conclusion, honours were awarded to business partners for an array of milestones, achievements, and acknowledgements.

Andy Wood OBE of Adnams PLC was named the Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, whilst Nathan Lomax of Quickfire Digital won Norfolk’s Future Award.

The Community Sports Foundation’s very own Jackie Thornton was also awarded the Pay it Forward Award.

Fundraising auction prizes were generously donated by; Grant Furlong, Ski Yodl, Paul Green, Richard Pearce, Norwich Accountancy Service and Coder Agency, along with the usual banquet of Norwich City goodies.

These goodies included a pair of Grant Hanley’s boots autographed by the player, who was appeared as a guest speaker alongside Zoe Webber.

Thank you to the event sponsors:

Howes Percival, Norwich Accountancy Services, Foresight, Newsquest IQ, Ski Yodl, Close Brothers, Royal Norfolk Agricultural  Association, Axe Financial.

Senior Fundraising and Events Manager, Emma Fletcher-Dungay said:

“We are extremely grateful to the team behind putting on such an amazing event.  To have the opportunity to bring so many individuals and businesses together to learn more about the Foundation and in particular ‘Duncan’s Club’ was mind blowing.  Then to have raised such an incredible amount of money is amazing.  Thank you to everyone who played their part!”

A word from Richard Pearce:

“Myself , Kieran Miles, Morris Peacock, Jon Hook and Jo Bishop are absolutely delighted that we have once again been able to support the Community Sports Foundation as our chosen charity for our now 2nd Annual Norfolk Business Leaders Dinner. The figure of £23,000 is a truly stunning amount of money and testament to the kindness and generosity of the group of business leaders that we support with lunches, events, charity awareness and overall connectivity to support their business aims.

The Foundation is a charity that continues to drive social engagement, inclusivity, diversity and overall, well-being for the greater good of our county and fine city. It is for this reason we believe it aligns with our own overall desire for the business leader’s ecosystem that we are so proud to have developed over the last few years.

Congratulations to Jackie Thornton, Nathan Lomax and Andy Wood who were our 2022 award winners in the respective categories of Pay it Forward, Norfolk’s Future and Lifetime Achievement.

Thank you to all that have attended the events throughout the year, those 300 that were in the room on the night and most of all Sam and Emma at the Foundation without whom we would not have been able to deliver what was truly remarkable evening for Norfolk and the legacy this will achieve.”
