On Tuesday, Jake Humphrey and Jonny Howson were on hand to cut the ribbon on the new and improved Carrow Park.
The facility, which now includes physiotherapy room and a purpose built multisport hall will also be available to hire as a classroom, meeting room, event and birthday party venue.
The redevelopments will allow CSF to increase the range of activities and services it can offer to the local community. These include; supporting the rehabilitation of injured young people in partnership with Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, supporting the homeless, disadvantaged and NEET young people with training and educational programmes and offering sports and dance activities for adults and children with disabilities.
The project has been made possible thanks to a £93,600 grant from the Premier League Community Facilities Fund, £25,000 from Barclays Spaces for Sports and further support from Norfolk County Council Short Breaks.
Speaking to the assembled guests, Jake Humphrey said:
“As a trustee of the Community Sports Foundation, I can’t thank enough everyone who has contributed in some way to this project.
“It’s really amazing to stand here to see the building and the impact that the Community Sports Foundation is having – this is what it’s all about.”
