The Nest played host to four brilliant days of football from Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 August, as more than 1,120 players took part in the 2026 Boys Canary Cup – supported by Busseys and MH Goals.
With teams travelling from across the country – including Watford, Aston Villa, Reading, Brighton, Ipswich, Luton, Colchester United, York City, Russell Martin Academy, NCF Elites and Norwich City – the pitches were packed with fast‑paced fixtures and plenty of drama across all eight age groups.
Day one brought an exciting surprise for the young players as Norwich City first‑team duo Jack Stacey and Anis Ben Slimane visited The Nest. Both spent time watching the action, meeting teams and presenting medals at the end of the day’s finals, creating a memorable moment for players and families.
A remarkable achievement saw a Norwich City Community Sports Foundation team reach the final at every single age group, securing five tournament wins and finishing runners‑up in three; a brilliant reflection of the strength and depth across the Foundation’s Football Development Programme.
