Bateman Groundworks have been proud sponsors of the Powerchair football team for nearly a year. We are thrilled to now be able to display their logo on the players’ shirts and chairs as they participate in competitive regional and national fixtures.
The team was founded in 2007 and aims to provide a competitive sport for disabled children and adults. The club has been running for over 10 years and has amalgamated a collection of awards and titles over that time.
The Powerchair football team currently competes in both the WFA National League Championship and the Southeast Regional League Division One, where they currently sit mid-table. The team continues to expand as the sport grows in popularity and gains greater publicity.
As part of the launch celebration, Norwich City forward Jonathan Rowe joined us to meet the participants and take part in the session, giving him an insight into how technical the sport is and how talented the players are.
We also spoke to Executive Chairman of Bateman Groundworks, Richard Bateman who expressed his awe at the footballing talent and what it means to be involved with the team.
The Powerchair football team are one of our many representative squads run by our disability programme leads.
Our disability representative squads enjoy tours and festivals alongside a programme of fixtures against representative teams from other Premier League/Football League clubs.
