Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, in partnership with the Norwich City Academy, are delighted to announce the launch of the new Norwich City Coaches Academy, providing further support and engagement opportunities for current and aspiring coaches working across all ages and levels of the game.
The Academy will be delivered across three core strands:
The Norwich City Coaches Academy is free to join, and coaches are required to register on an individual basis.
The Coaches Academy will provide regular development opportunities for local coaches looking to take their first steps into coaching whilst also supporting those working at higher levels of the game.
A comprehensive coach CPD programme will engage key First Team, Academy and Foundation staff, working across our male, female and disability pathways to deliver insightful, relevant and realistic support to those working at all ages and levels of the game.
Regular competitions and rewards will also see enrolled coaches being able to provide their clubs further opportunities such as accessing funded training sessions at The Nest, free coaching equipment and tickets for U23 games at Carrow Road. Members of the Coaching Academy will also see their teams be given opportunities to fulfil national and international fixtures against touring teams at The Nest and internal Academy fixtures and festivals.
The Coaches Academy provides a natural progression from the Foundation’s existing Junior Coaches Academy which provides under 16’s the opportunity to take their own first steps into coaching.
"To build on the success of our previous FC Live coaching events this is a great opportunity, to embed this within a wider offer of support to local clubs, thorough the power of the football club, is even more exciting."
Ian Thornton OBE
Foundation CEO
Details of the first event, to be held at the football club’s Avant Training Centre, will be shared in the coming weeks.
"It’s really pleasing we are working closely with the Foundation on this opportunity, the benefits in terms of coach development, player progression and football opportunities will be excellent for all."
Dean Rastrick
Head of Football Development – Norwich City Academy
