Former Canary midfielder Youssef Safri is the latest addition to the Norwich City Legends team for the upcoming match against Inter Forever, in May.
A popular figure with City fans, the tough tackling Moroccan made over 80 appearances in three years at the club.
Safri’s 40-yard strike against Newcastle United in April 2005 is considered by many as one of the most spectacular goals ever scored at Carrow Road.
An established Moroccan international with over 70 caps, Safri was particularly instrumental in the 2004 African Cup of Nations campaign, where he finished a finalist.
Aside from the Canaries, Safri enjoyed successful spells at both Coventry City and Southampton in his time at England, before finishing his playing career at Qatar Sports Club in 2013.
He is currently the Assistant Manager at his boyhood club, Raja Casablanca.
The match against Inter Forever is proudly supported by club Community Partner Aviva and will raise funds to build the Community Sports Foundation’s new hub, ‘The Nest’.
It will mark 25 years since Mike Walker’s Canaries made a memorable run to the third round of the UEFA Cup in 1993.
Safri joins an ever-growing pool of confirmed Norwich City Legends players: Bryan Gunn, Darren Huckerby, Adam Drury, Chris Sutton, Iwan Roberts, Grant Holt, Mark Bowen, Rob Newman, Daryl Sutch, Paul McVeigh, Robert Ullathorne and John Polston.
Players confirmed for Inter Forever so far include legendary German striker Jurgen Klinsmann, Javier Zanetti, Nicola Berti, Maicon, Marco Materazzi, Giogos Karagounis and goalkeeper Francesco Toldo.

Standard tickets are priced at £9.93 for adults and £1.93 for U18s. Hospitality packages are also available.
