The workshop also served as a reunion for the group with Steve Jones, WSG’s European Regional Director, who visited last November. The participants fondly remembered his missed penalty during a football game, sparking some lighthearted banter!
Reflecting on the workshop, Steve shared his admiration for the group’s progress:
“Everyone was eager to engage and interacted much more enthusiastically and vocally than I remember from my first visit. Whatever it is you have done, it has obviously worked outstandingly.”
Steve expressed pride in WSG Energy’s involvement, stating, “Ultimately, when I left Carrow Park yesterday, my overwhelming feeling was that we had just been in a room with an amazing bunch of people who, with your support, have truly realised their own potential. I’m so glad that, as an organisation, we have been allowed to make a small contribution to that success.”
Martha Casey, Relationship Manager at the Foundation, highlighted the value of such partnerships:
“It’s always great when partners get involved beyond monetary support. We’re keen on what I like to call Bigger Picture Partnerships, where partners can help us deliver specific KPIs to enrich programme delivery and directly impact a participant’s experience. In this case, WSG Energy brought in-house expertise to help the Realising Potential group with employability skills.”
The CV writing workshop is just one example of how the Foundation and its partners work together to create lasting, positive change in the community.
