Veterans football team take on Wigan

On Saturday 18th February we took Forces 2 Canaries, a veteran Norwich City supporter group – to represent The Foundation’s ‘Club & Country’ programme in a fixture against Wigan before the first team game at the DW Stadium.

This collaborative programme gives veterans the chance to represent the Club against other EFL teams. We have had the pleasure of working closely with Nev Townsend, Chairman of Forces 2 Canaries to enable this to happen.

This season, the programme aims to fulfil a home fixture, away fixture and a tournament – our debut tournament took place at The Nest back in December.

Following the fixture, which ended 9-5 to Wigan, all players were given a match ticket to watch the Wigan vs Norwich first team game.
