Here’s a question to ponder: is On the Buzzer, City! the biggest quiz in the east of England? After last night’s showing…probably.
A record 49 teams, made up of close to 300 quizzers, joined us yesterday evening for the Foundation’s annual fundraising quiz at Carrow Road.
Back for a seventh outing, and this year sponsored by Arcadia Home Interiors, early estimates show the popular quiz evening has raised an impressive £6,000, which will be used to support the Foundation’s work with disabled and disadvantaged individuals.
Hosts BBC Norfolk’s Rob Butler and former Canary favourite Adrian Forbes led the quizzers through ten rounds of closely contested quiz action, with rounds including sport, film & tv and current affairs – and, of course, the mystery guest round (which this year featured Ivo Pinto on a school visit).
Six City players, including James Maddison, Wes Hoolahan and Harrison Reed, contributed with video questions.
Showing they were no slouches when it comes to general knowledge, ‘One of Us is a Scummer’ were quiz winners with an impressive 75 out of 91, four points ahead of ‘Everett Mitchell Collective’, who must be cursing their luck after a second successive runners-up finish.
As well as bagging themselves a commemorative ‘OTBC’ emblazoned Norwich City home kit and the quiz trophy, the quiz winners will be able to reminisce over their successes in a match day box for an upcoming home City fixture of their choice.
Awesome night with my old mucker @forbesy7 at the brilliant @NorwichCityCSF Quiz.

Beyond the quiz, funds raised through the half-time balloon raffle, head n’ tail round and the auction boosted the total raised from the evening.
Prizes were all kindly donated by supporters of the Foundation, and the impressive prize list included a signed England Six Nations rugby shirt, photoshoots at Barrett & Coe, a Dunston Hall day pass, a Hollywood Cinema annual pass and a variety of Riverside Leisure Centre vouchers, plus many more.
Many thank to our hosts Rob Butler and Adrian Forbes, event sponsors Arcadia Home Interiors, plus all our community partners who supported the event.
