Foundation partners Reed Wellbeing are a nationally recognised health and welfare group who work closely with local communities to help people improve their health. Reed Wellbeing provide easy-to-access interventions that address a range of different lifestyle issues.
Since December 2025, Reed Wellbeing have been providing free NHS Health Checks at Carrow Road for those over the age of 40, helping to reduce the risk of people developing conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease or a stroke.
We recently caught up with two anonymous individuals who have benefitted from Reed Wellbeing’s free health checks, to find out how they found the service:
Person A: I was at The Nest and the Reed Wellbeing team were parked up on site. I went over to find out more about the service and booked on.
Person B: I got an email through from my employer saying I was eligible to make the most of their free service. The Reed Wellbeing team stopped by my place of work which was perfect, so I didn’t hesitate to sign myself up!
Person A: It was so easy, I really couldn’t believe it! I just wandered over, introduced myself and the Reed Wellbeing team took over from there! I gave them my details, and they booked me in straight away.
Person B: It was a simple click of a button! I hopped online, chose the date, the venue and the time. Whilst doing this, I noticed a whole host of other venues where Reed Wellbeing deliver the same service, which was really interesting. It made me realise just how easily accessible their health checks are.
Person A: The check was quick, efficient and professional. I felt comfortable throughout in a controlled and friendly environment.
Person B: It was really simple and effective, and allowed me to have checks that I perhaps wouldn’t have done with my GP (General Practitioner), such as a cholesterol check. I also got the result immediately, which was really beneficial as it reassured me against any doubts I had.
Person A: The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and seemed really knowledgeable too. They were able to put my mind at ease over a few elements and answer some important questions I had on the health chat.
Person B: They were all super friendly and explained each step of the health check as we worked our way through it. I found this really reassuring as I wasn’t entirely sure how each check was going to work!
Person A: I simply just wouldn’t have had the time or capacity to get a health check booked in outside of my work life, so to have these free health checks so easily accessible during work hours is a real bonus. I think it’s really important that people over the age of 40 make the most of this sort of service, as it can help answer any questions that may be sitting heavy on your mind.
Person B: I think a lot of over-40’s perhaps feel that they don’t need regular Health Checks, or simply struggle to find time to get one booked in. I just think it’s so important to get any burning questions answered, in order to put both your mind and body at ease.
Person A: Definitely! It’s free and it’s helpful – go for it.
Person B: I think your health is just so important, and these free health checks are the perfect opportunity to get yourself checked quickly, completely free of charge. By getting yourself checked, you may identify issues you didn’t know you had, which could be vital. I would 100% recommend this service.
