Last night, quizzers put their trivia knowledge to the test in the Community Sports Foundation’s (CSF) sixth annual ‘On the Buzzer, City’ charity quiz.
A record 40 teams-of-six took part, all with aim of being crowned Buzzer champions.
Hosts ex-Canary Adrian Forbes and BBC Norfolk’s Rob Butler led the teams through nine lively rounds of questions covering a wide range of subjects including history, music, TV & film, backed up with supporting video questions recorded by Norwich City FC players.
Ultimately, it was quiz ever-presents Archant (pictured below) who claimed their first win – scooping the winner’s prizes and most valuable of all, their team-name inscribed on the prestigious trophy.
Among the other teams, which included representatives from local businesses and supporter groups, was a team from Colney with Norwich City FC players Cameron Jerome, John Ruddy, Louis Thompson and Ryan Bennett present.
Aside from the quiz, a balloon raffle and auction was held raising close to £2,000 with prizes including England test match tickets and a signed Leicester City shirt from their memorable 2015/16 Premier League season.
CSF Fundraising Officer Emma Fletcher said:
“We were delighted with the generosity of our quizzers tonight. The amount we raised was fantastic and will support our programmes which help those in need throughout Norfolk.
“I would like to thank everyone who took part in all the various roles to make the evening a success, especially our fabulous quiz masters who donate their own time for the event.”
Raffle prizes were kindly donated by: Norwich City Football Club, Gravity, Norwich Castle, Slaters, Hollywood Cinemas, Eastern Daily Press, Barrett & Coe Photography.
