Legendary Canaries manager to assume managerial duties for City Legends
Legendary former City manager Mike Walker will be making a one-off return to the Carrow Road touchline for the charity match on Sunday 20 May (KO 2pm).
The match between Norwich City Legends and Inter Forever marks 25 years since the Club’s famous 1993-94 UEFA Cup run.
Walker, who was at the helm for the European run, will assume managerial duties for the City Legends side.

Club legend and former Assistant Manager Ian Culverhouse, who was a playing member of the ’93 side, will accompany Mike Walker on the touchline in a non-playing role.
Also being reunited with Walker are two returning members of his former backroom staff, kit manager Terry Postle and team physio Tim Sheppard.
Walker’s swashbuckling side defeated Vitesse Arnhem, and famously became the only English team to beat Bayern Munich in the Olympic Stadium, before falling to eventual champions Inter Milan in the third round.
Walker, now 72 years old and living in Cyprus, will reunite with members of his 1993 squad, including John Polston, Spencer Prior, Daryl Sutch, Rob Newman, Mark Bowen, Rob Ullathorne, Darren Eadie, Chris Sutton, and goalkeeper Bryan Gunn.
Praised for his attack-minded passing game, the Welshman steered Norwich City to their highest ever finish – 3rd place in the Premier League during the 1992-93 season.
Walker said: “To come back and be in charge once again on the touchline will be fantastic. It will be great to get a good crowd from a charitable point of view but also to remember the run and see lots of City heroes once again.
“It will be nice to see lots of the players once again as I haven’t seen any of them in quite a while. The last one was Mark Bowen who I bumped into a few years ago!
“Any time you play Inter Milan is tough. They’ve announced some brilliant players – Klinsmann, Materazzi, Toldo and more – so it will be a very good test for us. It’s not just a charity match and I hope that everybody takes it quite seriously.
“Hopefully we can put on a good show for the fans.”
City’s Legends squad also includes Youssef Safri, Grant Holt, Gary Holt, Paul McVeigh, Darren Huckerby, Lee Croft, Philip Mulryne, Adam Drury and Iwan Roberts.
Walker’s Legends will be sure to face a stiff test, up against a star-studded Inter Forever lineup that features legendary striker Jurgen Klinsmann, Nerazzurri legend Javier Zanetti, and World Cup winning defender Marco Materazzi, among others.
The fixture, which is supported by club partner Aviva, will raise funds for The Nest, our Community Sports Foundation’s exciting project to build a groundbreaking community hub to benefit people from all walks of life in Norwich & Norfolk.
