This weekend, 12 hardy fundraisers completed an 85 mile trek along the length of the iconic Hadrian’s Wall to raise funds for the Community Sports Foundation (CSF).
The group left Wallsend in Northumberland early Friday morning and walked across the country to Bowness-on-Solway, following the route of the old Roman wall.

Over £5,000 has been raised from the event which will support the Foundation’s work with disadvantaged and disabled people across the county.
CSF’s Fundraising Manager Emma Fletcher, who travelled with the group, said:
“A massive congratulations to everyone who took part – to walk that distance for that number of hours in the extreme heat is incredible. I am so proud and inspired by what the group has achieved and the money they have raised, I really cannot thank everyone enough.
“I would also like to thank event sponsors Mattressman, our physio for the weekend Lindsey Beard from Infinite Fitness Therapy and the incredible support team that guided the group along the route and were at every meet point to refuel, patch up and encourage the walkers.”
Dates for next year’s challenge will be available shortly, however if you would like to express your interest then please contact [email protected].
