On Thursday 28th September, 18 teams of avid golfers arrived at Barnham Broom, ready to go club to club across 18 holes.
Ex City ‘keeper Bryan Gunn returned to captain his team for the tenth instalment of Golf Day with club legend Wes Hoolahan making his debut as team leader in place of previous captain Dean Ashton.
In total, 72 golfers competed, with half representing Team Gunn and the other half siding with his opponent on Team Wes. The teams spent hours out on the immaculate Barnham Broom course, returning to the clubhouse late afternoon for a three-course meal and drinks from the bar.
Once the teams were well fed, the evening was brought to a close by a series of live auctions, a raffle and an intriguing game of ‘heads or tails’; Gunn v Wes style, all of which contributed to an incredible total of £10,000.
After enduring two-years of defeat, Gunny finally raised the trophy with his team claiming victory this year!
Head of Fundraising Emma Fletcher-Dungay said:
“We are so grateful to Gunny and Wes for giving their time up to host the day, and our partners and sponsors who helped support the day allowing us to maximise the money raised.
“Also, a special mention to Debbie and the team at Barnham Broom who were perfect hosts and on hand to help in any way they could.”
A big thank you goes to our sponsors BBA Digital Media and Norwich Accountancy for supporting the event.
Another thank you to our Partner Sponsor Woodforde’s Beer who supplied items for the halfway house, raffle, and individual prizes for the winners and to each of our hole sponsors on the day:
