Successful day at Royal Norwich Golf Club

Ex-players, dodgy trousers and monster putts were the order of the day at the first Dean Ashton Golf Day for the Sporting Light Appeal.

Twenty-two teams took part at Royal Norwich Golf Club and familiar faces included Iwan Roberts, Darren Eadie, Darren Huckerby, Paul McVeigh, Tony Cottee, Adie Moses and Tony Gayle.

The event was sponsored by accountancy and business advisory firm, BDO and despite breezy conditions, the Texas Scramble format made for some low scoring.

Overall winners were the team from Sexty & Co, who finished narrowly ahead of the Dean Ashton select with a net score of 53.7.
