Despite looming weather warnings of thunder and rain, the only rumbling was the thunderous applause as five teams set off from Hunstanton ahead of their 22-mile walk on Thursday morning.
Representatives from North Norfolk District Council, CREDO Asset Finance, Riverside Leisure Centre, Nuffield Health and GWS endured scorching sunshine as they marched across the North Norfolk coast.
In a new addition to the coastal walk, teams took part in a series of team building challenges at each checkpoint along the way.
The challenges included, ‘Carpet-flip challenge’ and ‘Walking-the-planks’ along with completing a quiz about the North Norfolk coast, collecting items along the route, and taking selfies at places of interest.

The various challenges were all time-sensitive and rewarded the team with points, used to determine the winners of the first ever Corporate Coastal Walk Challenge – Riverside Leisure Centre, who were followed by CREDO and North Norfolk District Council.
Senior Fundraising and Events Manager, Emma Fletcher-Dungay said:
“It was a very entertaining first ever Corporate Coastal Cup, where all the teams threw themselves into the many challenges put together for them en route.
“Congratulations to our eventual winners Riverside Leisure Centre, who took home the prizes and trophy, and we hope to see them back next year defending their title.
“Thank you also to all the other teams that took part and contributed to a really fun event, which helped raise over £4,000 for the Foundation.”
Lawrence Cheese, General Manager of Riverside Leisure Centre, added:
“We would like to thank the Foundation’s team for a fantastic event. We all had so much fun within our team and the friendly competition with the others.
“The Community Sports Foundation impacts so many lives and we are proud to continue supporting this. Hopefully the corporate coastal will continue and grow in the coming years, we look forward to returning to retain our title!”
