In December 2024 the Foundation and Big C Cancer Charity excitedly announced an extraordinary new joint fundraising event for 2025 – The 150-Mile Challenge, powered by Arc Group.
Kicking off in February and March the Virtual 150 Mile Challenge inspired people of all ages and abilities strap on their walking boots in aid of these two fantastic charities. Challenged to walk 150 miles across the space of two months, the challenge was embraced by an awesome bunch of fundraisers from Norfolk and beyond.
With the Virtual 150 Mile Challenge complete, the main event was still to come – 150-miles in just 60 hours to be achieved by a team of incredibly fit and determined fundraisers.
Spearheading this immense challenge was Richard Pearce of Barclays Wealth, Adam Miller of Arc Group and Canaries Legend Grant Holt. With the collective mission of raising as much money as possible our brigade of hardy hikers strapped on their walking boots and took to the road.
Day one saw our team set off in the early hours of Wednesday morning, keen to give themselves the best opportunity to knock off as many hours as possible within the first twenty four hours.
These early stages of the walk were made easier by a well earned break in the late morning at Castle Acre, which included a hearty breakfast by Rapid Relief Team at a rest station hosted by Duration Brewing.
With stomachs full our team then powered through to their next resting point in Hunstanton where it was time for an all-important sports massage from Up and Running Treatments. Legs renewed, it was onto the final stretch of the day to Wells-next-the-Sea, where the teams stopped for a brief 3 hour rest kindly hosted by Pinewoods.

Help the team reach their fundraising targetWith our walkers desperate to reach Carrow Road prior to Norwich City’s game vs Portsmouth on Friday afternoon, there really was no time to lose. By 4am on Thursday morning, our team were back on the road.
By mid morning a huge milestone was broken – our team were officially halfway to the finish line. With sprits high, a pitstop fuelled by No.1 Fish & Chips Shop in Cromer was all our team needed to continue yet another day of this fantastic fundraising feat. Joined by family, friends and colleagues on route, motivations were tested but ultimately remained resolute on achieving this mammoth challenge.
Late in the evening the group arrived at Potters Resorts who kindly hosted our walkers for their final night.

Help the team reach their fundraising targetAfter a mere three hours rest, the final day saw another early start. With tired legs and tired minds beginning to take their toll, hospitality and food at the Loddon Swan was the perfect antidote, giving our walkers the final push they craved in their last stretch towards the home of Norwich City Football Club.
A special mention to our final sponsor: Cladspray Solutions
Crossing the bridge towards the Queen of Iceni in Riverside, just short of an hour before kick off, our walkers were greeted by a sea of yellow and green shirts and a huge round of applause. Joined by family and friends, they made their way towards the stadium and onto the pitch where they were rightfully greeted by an almighty cheer from the awaiting fans.
Whilst the walking may now be done, the fundraising certainly isn’t – there’s still time to donate to two fantastic charities and help the team reach their goal of £30,000 raised.
