A group of aspiring coaches took their first step into the world of sports coaching last week, thanks to a camp run by the Foundation’s Coach Development team.
The week-long Young Leaders camp was developed to give young people their first insight into coaching, through a range of practical and theory-based workshops.
Based at The Nest, the group of 24 Young Leaders also enjoyed personal development sessions, team building and communication exercises and the opportunity to learn from experienced Foundation coaches at ‘live’ sessions throughout the week.
They finished their week by organising and hosting their own tournament for children on a Soccer School.
Laurence York from the Foundation said:
“It was great to see so many young people choosing to spend a week of their summer holiday to build up their skills with us, learn and develop their C.V. We were thrilled with their commitment, passion and overall skill.”
He continued:
“Our Young Leaders will now have the opportunity to continue their learning journey with the Foundation, and build upon the skills they learnt on the camp.”
"We were thrilled with their commitment, passion and overall skill."
