Open session is part of our celebration of women's football next week
The Foundation will be running a free football session for girls at The Nest on Sunday 20th February, ahead of the Lionesses match at Carrow Road in the Arnold Clark Cup.
On a big weekend for women’s football in Norfolk, our session will give girls the opportunity to play the game too.
The event will include a series of fun drills and mini matches and is open to all girls (U8 to U16), regardless of whether they are already involved in the Foundation’s footballing pathway.
“It’s already a really exciting day for women’s football in Norfolk with the England fixture, so we’re delighted to be able to offer this free-of-charge event, too.”
“We welcome all girls, regardless of ability, playing experience or whether they’ve been involved with the Foundation before. It should be a lot of fun, and help make a special day that bit more special,” said Megan Todd, the Foundation’s Girls’ and Women’s Football Development Manager.
England and Manchester City ace Lauren Hemp – from North Walsham – was involved with the Foundation’s programmes from a young age.
England and Spain face off at the home of Norwich City on Sunday, February 20 (3.15pm KO), giving fans the opportunity to watch some of the world’s best as they prepare for the European Championships in July 2022.
