The FA People’s Cup will be kicking off across the country this weekend, giving people all over England the opportunity to play in the UK’s biggest five-a-side football tournament.
The free to enter competition will take place over three rounds and welcomes male, female and disability players ranging across all ages and abilities.
Teams that progress beyond the first round will qualify for the regional semi-finals in March, with the grand finals to follow later this year.
The Community Sports Foundation’s (CSF) walking football squad will compete in the knockout tournament this Saturday at the Football Development Centre in Bowthorpe.
CSF Health Engagement Coach, Ashley Fountain said:
“The squad are aiming to go as far as they can in the tournament and hopefully be at Wembley, lifting the trophy at the end of it all!
“It is a great opportunity for them to live that dream and they are really looking forward to getting stuck in this weekend. All of us at the Foundation would like to wish them lots of luck.”
BBC Get Inspired will be covering all the action with live text commentaries on the BBC Sport website.
