TOWIE star to skipper a team at Jamie's Game 2
On Thursday, students at a Norwich school were treated to a visit from Dan Osborne, star of TV show ‘The Only Way is Essex’, as part of the build up to Jamie’s Game 2- a celebrity football match at Carrow Road later this month.
Dan visited Open Academy and told an excited audience about the match dubbed ‘Jamie’s Game 2’, which raises money for the Community Sports Foundation (CSF) – Norwich City Football Club’s official charity partner.
The 22 year-old will captain a team against a side led by actor Danny Dyer on Sunday May 25th, and a host of exciting celebrities from TV, music, film and sport are scheduled to appear.
Last year’s game attracted nearly 8,000 fans and raised £60,000 for CSF, who provide sporting opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people in Norfolk.
After appearing at Open Academy, Mr Osborne dropped by the Aviva offices at Broadland Business Park to meet staff members; some of whom have supported the Foundation with volunteering work.
Already scheduled to appear at Jamie’s Game 2 are TV stars such as Dean Gaffney and Khali Best as well as Mr Osborne’s TOWIE co-stars Mario Falcone, Kirk Norcross and Little Chris.
Former X-Factor contestant and Dancing on Ice winner Ray Quinn has been added to the squads along with TV presenter Jeff Brazier and Anthony Costa, formerly of boy band Blue.
Ex-Norwich City heroes Darren Huckerby and Dean Ashton will line up again alongside fellow Canary legend Darren Eadie, whose company ‘Sellebrity’ work with CSF to stage the event.
A dramatic and moving night in 2013 saw 16 year-old Jamie Abbott, a member of the Norwich City Down’s Syndrome Football Team, score the winning goal from the penalty spot in the final moments to bring an action-packed match to a fitting conclusion.
