Community Sports Foundation fundraising total tops £80,000

The official race charity from Run Norwich 2018 has revealed the total amount raised by fundraisers at this year’s race.

Around 420 #TeamCSF runners ran for the Foundation, helping the charity to raise over £80,000.

Emma Fletcher, CSF Senior Fundraising & Events Manager, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted with the amount raised by #TeamCSF this year. It’s a huge amount of money, and we’re so thankful to our runners for the work they’ve put in – from fundraising, to training, to running the race itself.

“It’s an exciting time for the Foundation with The Nest project [The Foundation’s new multi-purpose community hub in Horsford], and the money raised will go towards our core programmes, which supports disadvantaged people and those with disabilities experience the benefits of sport.”

Phase One of The Nest project was recently completed, which saw extensive work completed on seven grass football pitches, as well as the renovation of the existing clubhouse, and the installation of residential bunk boxes. A major £2.5m fundraising campaign is now underway to allow the second Phase of the build to start.

When finally completed, The Nest will allow the Foundation to address health, wellbeing and social mobility issues in Norfolk and extend their reach to thousands more people each year.

Among the many programmes that the money raised this year will support are:

This year’s figure means that now over £400,000 has been raised for official race charities by runners since Run Norwich began in 2015. Charities that have benefitted include The Big C, Mind Norwich, NARs, SERV Norfolk, Age UK Norwich and Nelson’s Journey.

The Community Sports Foundation would like to thank Riverside Leisure Centre for kindly sponsoring #TeamCSF.

The official race charity application process for Run Norwich 2019 will be released in due course.
