Looking back on an action-packed two weeks at CSF
Cracking sessions, egg-cellent trips and making memories that will be hard to beat – our recap of another busy Easter holiday!
Over 1000 participants engaged with the Foundation over Easter which was packed with a range of fantastic sporting activities.
Boys’ Programme
The U9-12s and U13-U16s on our Boys’ Programme headed on tour for a fun-filled weekend of team-building activities and fixtures.
The action-packed Easter holidays continued with a series of fixture days for the Boys’ Elite PDC and Player Development Centre (PDC) squads.
Girls’ Programme
The U10-U16 Girls’ Academy Development Programme (ADP) traveled to Bournemouth for a three day tour of the South Coast.
Back in Norwich, the Girls’ Elite Player Development Centre (EPDC) welcomed teams from Suffolk FA for a series of matches at Easton & Otley College.
Disability
CSF disability participants met at three locations across Norfolk to practise and enjoy various sporting activities including badminton, handball and basketball.
Six members of our Down’s Syndrome team travelled to the capital to compete in a pre-match fixture against their Charlton counterparts.
The squad enjoyed the Sky Bet League One match between Charlton and Scunthorpe before being welcomed to take part in a well-deserved lap of honour at half time.
Soccer Schools
Our popular Soccer Schools returned for the Easter holidays and participants enjoyed a number of football-based activities.
The sessions saw a total of 500 participants at 15 different venues across Norfolk.
Kicks
Members of the Foundation’s Kicks squad headed to the North West to compete in the annual Premier League Kicks Cup.
A total of 89 teams, representing 64 clubs in the Premier League, Football League and National League were at the University of Manchester’s Wythenshawe site for the event.
After finishing top in the group stages, the Canaries played Manchester United. The match finished with a 0-0 draw which led to penalties and a defeat for Norwich City.
CSF Chief Executive Officer Ian Thornton commented:
“We are very grateful and appreciative of the trust and feedback given by all the parents and guardians of our participants. We believe this will highly benefit the programmes and environments we strive to create.
“I would like to thank all the staff, from planning to delivery, for their role, their passion and skills they continue to show.”
