Over £4,500 raised by coastal walkers
As the sun shone over the North Norfolk coastline on Sunday morning, a team of 82 walkers set off for the Community Sports Foundation’s (CSF) second annual Mini Coastal Walk Challenge.
The route of this one-day event took in some of the most breathtaking scenery across the North Norfolk coastline, including Thornham village, Holkham Beach and Wells-next-the-Sea.
Over £4,500 has been raised so far from the challenge which will support the Foundation’s work with disabled and disadvantaged people.
Among the 20 families taking part in the popular event was Norwich City’s sporting director Stuart Webber (pictured below, right), who completed the challenge in just over six hours.
CSF Fundraising and Events Manager Emma Fletcher commented:
“I am delighted with the success of the event this year and with the amount raised. We had sunshine, rain, thunder and then sunshine again as our challengers crossed the finish line!
“A huge thank you to event sponsors Ashtons Legal, Swash Nosh for providing food and our fabulous support team who not only led the walkers round safely but encouraged them at each rest stop. We couldn’t have done it without them!”
All proceeds raised from the event will help CSF to reach a further 12,000 people a year, via The Nest, the Foundation’s exciting project to build a groundbreaking community sports facility to benefit people from all walks of life in Norwich and Norfolk.
Feeling inspired? Places are still available for our full Coastal Walk Challenge which takes place in June.
